The existing coating was peeling due to inadequate prep by the previous installer, and a system that wasn’t properly suited for the surface and anticipated conditions. Additionally, there were conditional issues with excessive exposure to ponding water and snow.
Solution
Remove the failing coatings and debris, restore and prepare the substrate for new coating. Install a new system suitable for the environment, and use.
We began by mechanically grinding the entire surface to remove the existing failing coating and prepared the substrate to the proper profile for new coating. Next we removed failing control joints and routed cracks in the substrate. We then carefully installed the primer, base slurry coat, solid color top coat, and elastomeric joint sealant.
