April 29th marked the 150th anniversary of Arbor Day, a holiday typically celebrated with planting a tree. Tony Hahn, one of DCPS’s certified horticulturists and nationally recognized certified arborist, collaborated with Denver 9News and the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado to commemorate the occasion by providing the Denver community with tips on how to select the right tree and how to plant it the right way.
Tony offered additional suggestions on how-to-understand where to plant different types of trees on your property. His number one tip is, “Do the research to understand how large the tree will get and what types of pests they will attract.” Doing research ahead of time will ensure time and cost savings.
