Pay: $35.00 per hour

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasonal employee helping and assisting managing a group of snow sites. The individual will help manage crews, Subcontractors, Operators and leads to drive industry and company standard services. Individual will be monitoring, touring and inspect sites, help drive a deicing truck to apply product as needed and ensure overall execution of services leading up to, during and post snow events. Applicant will also inspect sites, identify area of opportunity, safety hazards, as well as address and communicate any correction of errors with our services and or direct reports.

Job Responsibilities

Pre-Storm

  • Work with snow division team to assess performance on previous storms, identify areas for improvement and develop and execute on a strategy to remedy the deficiencies.
  • Work with dedicated snow laborers to ensure that supplies are stocked, vehicles and equipment are in working order and crews are available.
  • Identify potential weaknesses and “what-if” scenarios and work with others to develop backup plans.
  • Ensure snow crews have property maps, and all related snow removal supplies/equipment.
  • Put plan in place to flex-up for large or prolonged storms, including extra equipment and second shifts of laborers.
  • Develop the proper organizational plans for Site Managers and Working Shovel Crew Leaders as appropriate or where applicable.

During-Storm

  • Assume full responsibility during a storm for a zone/zones consisting of between 10-15 properties.
  • Documentation of start, stop times from employees and subcontractors.
  • Documentation using SiteFotos mobile app to take pictures of proof of work, and verification of needs.
  • Documentation of work orders needed, and coordination of labor crew to complete the work to DCPS standards.
  • Efficiently utilize labor, allowing for all hours paid to be invoiced to customer.
  • Problem solve, and move crews around per the needs of each individual property. Prioritize the work based on the timing of the storm, and the needs of the route.
  • Create efficient clean up routes using only the labor needed to get the job completed in a cost-effective manner.
  • Executing quality control efforts after a snowstorm: and assist with Timecards, time entry and customer service.
  • Drive a deicing truck to apply product as needed.
  • Other projects as needed.

Post-Storm

  • Coordinate with Site Managers to ensure daily inspections are being done to identify and remediate thaw-refreeze issues.
  • Holding site managers accountable for completing their quality control routes, documentation, and SiteFotos.
  • Ensure timecards and invoicing paperwork are processed expeditiously to get workers paid and customers invoiced quickly.
  • Ensure that properties are restocked between storms, and fully staffed for any upcoming snow events.

Job Skills and Qualifications

  • Open availability, Flexible, Days, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of operations management preferred.
  • Experience working out in the field for snow removal operations, preferred.
  • Training provided in accordance with DCPS standards.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Advanced Communication Skills, Both Written and Verbal (bilingual in SPANISH a plus).
  • Highly Organized; Production and Planning Skills Required.
