Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour

Job Summary

A Landscape Enhancement Crew Leader will inspect landscape work to ensure compliance with specifications, evaluate the quality of materials or work, and advise construction personnel, as well as integrate existing land features or landscaping into designs for DCPS landscaped properties. They will collaborate with the Enhancement Property Managers to maximize the aesthetic features of structures or surrounding land and to improve energy efficiency. They will perform basic installations/enhancements for their property and perform simple irrigation repairs/installs. This position is meant to provide additional detailed maintenance work not done by the weekly maintenance crew.

Job Responsibilities

  • Accurately install project according to plans and on budget
  • Provide good customer service, be able to provide basic updates with clients
  • Maintain a clean and tidy Jobsite
  • Delegate project duties amongst crew
  • Check fluid levels before operating the machines
  • Delegate, manage, and oversee daily and regular transport and equipment maintenance (cleaning and greasing, cleaning, or replacing air filters, etc.)
  • Assist in leading weekly safety trainings for crew and ensure crew members attend scheduled trainings
  • Ensure crew is working safely and job sites are safe at all time; anticipate potential hazards
  • Maintain open communication between crew and production management
  • Provide feedback about crew’s performance
  • Assist in training new & existing team members on crew responsibilities, quality expectations, and installation methods
  • Lead crew in preparation/execution of daily tasks
  • Manage project to meet or beat budgeted hours
  • Maintain 24-hour on-call status during snow season
  • Special projects and duties assigned as needed

Job Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to get to work at a predetermined time
  • Ability to use phone applications to monitor personal hours
  • Ability to stay standing/walking throughout the day and lift up to 75lbs
  • Ability to drive/operate DCPS vehicles safely and precisely
  • Ability to maintain a relationship with a property manager with respect and open communication
  • Proficient in all aspects of landscaping to includeplant/tree id and care, planting, and weed identification
  • Basic irrigation knowledge
  • Ability to operate small handheld landscape machinery with precision
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Well organized with an ability to prioritize tasks
  • Eye for detail work
  • Valid driver’s license
